Maulana Rashid ul-Haq Named New Deputy Head of Darul Uloom Haqqania Following Brother’s Martyrdom

Maulana Rashid ul-Haq has been named the new deputy head of Darul Uloom Haqqania, succeeding his brother, Maulana Hamid ul-Haq, who was martyred recently.

The decision was made during a gathering at Darul Uloom Haqqania in Akora Khattak, attended by thousands of scholars, political leaders, and members of the public who had come to pay their respects at Maulana Hamid ul-Haq’s funeral, as reported by Ex Press News.

Maulana Irfan ul-Haq Haqqani, speaking on behalf of the Haqqania family and the scholars of Darul Uloom Haqqania, announced Maulana Rashid ul-Haq’s appointment. The decision was met with unanimous approval, with the gathering expressing strong support for the new deputy head.

During the funeral, Maulana Irfan ul-Haq led prayers and formally confirmed Maulana Rashid ul-Haq’s position. He also expressed his backing for Maulana Abdul Haq Sani, declaring him the political successor of his late father, Maulana Hamid ul-Haq.

In his address at the funeral, Maulana Rashid ul-Haq thanked the community for their overwhelming support and solidarity. He highlighted the legacy of his father and brother, who dedicated their lives to the nation’s welfare. He vowed to continue their mission, stating, “This country is ours, and our ancestors sacrificed their lives for its preservation.”

Maulana Abdul Haq Sani, also speaking at the funeral, assured attendees that the Haqqania family would remain steadfast in their commitment to truth. He declared, “We will not be deterred by bombs, attacks, or threats. As long as there is a member of the Haqqania family, we will continue the mission of Maulana Sami ul-Haq and never compromise on the teachings of Islam.”

After the funeral, Maulana Hamid ul-Haq was laid to rest beside his father, Maulana Sami ul-Haq, in a final tribute to their shared dedication to Islam and the nation.

The funeral was attended by a large number of people, including the Afghan Consul General, who came to pay their respects to Maulana Hamid ul-Haq Haqqani, the chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S). He was martyred in a suicide blast at Darul Uloom Haqqania in Akora Khattak, located in the Nowshera district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

The attack occurred after Friday prayers, claiming the lives of Maulana Hamid ul-Haq and others. Following the tragic incident, a massive crowd gathered at the madrassa, where Maulana Hamid ul-Haq’s funeral prayers were led by his son, Maulana Sahibzada Abdul Haq Sani.
