Jay-Z Hails Legal Victory as Lawsuit Against Him and Diddy Dismissed

Jay-Z is celebrating what he calls a “victory” after a sexual assault lawsuit filed against him and Sean “Diddy” Combs was officially dismissed.

Following the voluntary dismissal on Friday, the Grammy-winning rapper shared a statement on X (formerly Twitter), condemning the allegations as “frivolous, fictitious, and appalling.” He emphasized that the case was “without merit and never had a chance of moving forward.”

“The fabricated story they created would be laughable if the accusations weren’t so serious,” said Jay-Z, 55. “I wouldn’t wish this ordeal on anyone. The emotional toll on my wife, children, and loved ones can never be erased.”

Background of the Lawsuit

The lawsuit was initially filed in October 2024, naming only Diddy as a defendant. However, in December, the complaint was amended to include Jay-Z, alleging he had assaulted a 13-year-old girl.

Jay-Z denied the accusations, calling them “a blatant attempt at blackmail.”

In his latest statement, the Roc Nation founder also took aim at the plaintiff’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, accusing him of pursuing the case for financial gain.

“These so-called ‘1-800 lawyers’ get to file lawsuits under the anonymity of ‘Jane Doe,’ and when they realize their money grab is failing, they can simply walk away without any consequences,” Jay-Z said. “This is a failure of the legal system.”

Jay-Z Calls for Justice

Closing his statement, Jay-Z called for fairness in the justice system, stating:

“Let the truth prevail—for both victims and those who are falsely accused.”
