A young man from Lodhran falsely claimed that his cousin was being forced into marriage after discovering she was set to marry someone else, according to a police spokesperson on Wednesday.
The spokesperson stated that the man, who hails from Kahror Pakka, reported to authorities that his cousin was being married against her will. However, upon investigation, police discovered that the marriage was consensual and took place with the girl’s approval.
The suspect had called the police helpline, 15, to report the fabricated claim. As a result of the false report, the young man was arrested, and a case was filed against him under the Telegraph Act.
