Youth Conference Concludes with Emphasis on Heritage Preservation
KARACHI:The three-day youth conference, organized by the Sindh Sports Department, wrapped up with a strong message highlighting the importance of safeguarding cultural heritage.
As part of the event, participants visited several historically significant landmarks in Karachi, including Mohatta Palace, Quaid-e-Azam’s residence, the Chaukhandi tombs, and Frere Hall, where the closing ceremony was held.
Speaking at the ceremony, renowned archaeologist Dr. Kaleemullah Lashari underscored the vital role of preserving historical sites. He urged young people to recognize their heritage and take responsibility for its protection, emphasizing that these sites are a reflection of cultural identity. “Our heritage defines who we are, and it is our duty to safeguard it for future generations,” he stated.
The conference also provided a platform for young participants to showcase their creativity, with some presenting poetry. Addressing the gathering, Secretary for Sports and Youth Affairs, Abdul Aleem Lashari, highlighted that the event aimed to empower young individuals by offering them a space to express their ideas and enhance their skills across various fields.
Discussions at the conference covered a range of important topics, including education, healthcare, employment, and social challenges.
A total of 120 young men and women from various districts of Sindh took part in the event. To acknowledge their participation, all attendees were presented with certificates of appreciation during the closing ceremony.
