UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres announced on Monday that the past decade has experienced the 10 hottest years on record, highlighting the ongoing climate crisis.
“This is climate breakdown in real time,” Guterres wrote on X.
He urged global action, stating, “In 2025, countries must significantly reduce emissions and support the transition to a renewable future.”
Meanwhile, in Taiwan, weather officials reported the highest average temperature in over 100 years. According to the Central Weather Administration, Taiwan’s annual average temperature in 2024 reached 24.97Β°C, marking the hottest year since records began in 1897.
