West Indies declare Test squad for Pakistan visit next month

Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced a 15-member squad for a two-match Test series against Pakistan, scheduled from January 17 to 29, 2025, at Multan Cricket Stadium.

This will be West Indies’ first Test tour of Pakistan in 18 years and the final series of the World Test Championship cycle. Left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie returns after missing the recent series against Bangladesh.

Young batter Amir Jangoo, who recently scored a match-winning century on his ODI debut, has earned his first Test call-up.

Both Tests will be played in Multan due to ongoing renovations at Karachi’s National Stadium for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025.

West Indies head coach Andre Coley sees the series as a chance to build on past performances. He highlighted Motie’s importance to the spin attack and praised Jangoo for his strong batting, especially against spin.

The tour will begin with a two-day practice match against Pakistan Shaheens in Rawalpindi on January 10-11. The team will arrive in Islamabad on January 6 before heading to Multan for the series.
