Vin Diesel Announces ‘Fast X: Part 2’ Will Be Filmed in Los Angeles: “Time to Come Back Home”

Vin Diesel has revealed that Fast X: Part 2, the second-to-last film in the Fast & Furious franchise, will return to Los Angeles for filming. The city, which was the setting for the first film in 2001, holds a significant place in the franchise’s history.

Diesel shared the update on Instagram, thanking his co-star Jordana Brewster for inspiring the decision. He wrote, “Last week, during the fires that displaced LA… my sister Jordana reached out to me and said… Please have Universal film the rest of Fast X: Part 2 in LA. Los Angeles needs it now more than ever.” He added that filming in LA is a tribute to where it all began. “Los Angeles is where Fast & Furious started 25 years ago… and now Fast will finally return home. All love.”

The announcement comes as Fast & Furious nears its conclusion. Diesel hinted that Universal plans to release the finale in March 2026, possibly as a two-part movie. He expressed his desire to return to the franchise’s origins, focusing on real street racing, practical stunts, and a reunion of the “beautiful brotherhood.”

With Fast X: Part 2 returning to Los Angeles, the film aims to honor both the city’s resilience and the legacy of the franchise, blending nostalgia with a new chapter.
