UAE Reduces Working Hours for Ramadan
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced a two-hour reduction in daily working hours for private-sector employees during Ramadan.
In an official statement on Monday, the ministry clarified that companies can adopt flexible or remote work arrangements based on operational requirements. “Employers may implement flexible or remote work models within the designated daily working hours during Ramadan,” the statement read.
The UAE government had earlier confirmed reduced working hours for the public sector. As per an official circular, federal ministries and authorities will operate from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM (Monday to Thursday) and 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Fridays.
These adjustments aim to accommodate employees observing Ramadan, ensuring a balanced work schedule while maintaining efficiency and productivity.
