US Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthen Economic Ties with Pakistan

The United States has reiterated its dedication to fostering a robust bilateral relationship with Pakistan, with a particular focus on enhancing economic cooperation and expanding investment opportunities. This commitment was emphasized by Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker during her meeting with Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in Islamabad on Friday.

The discussions centered on mutual interests, including strategies to boost economic collaboration and increase US investments in Pakistan’s priority sectors. Finance Minister Aurangzeb provided an overview of the government’s macroeconomic reform agenda, aligned with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision for structural reforms and export-driven economic growth.

Aurangzeb highlighted key initiatives aimed at improving economic efficiency and ensuring sustainable, inclusive growth. These efforts include privatization, tax reforms, energy sector restructuring, and streamlining the federal government.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic ties and exploring new avenues of collaboration to achieve shared economic objectives. The meeting underscored the importance of deepening the partnership between the two nations to promote mutual prosperity and development.
