Tourists Flock to Neelam Valley to Enjoy Snowfall Scenery

MIRPUR:On Sunday, a large number of tourists from across the country flocked to the stunning snow-covered Neelam Valley in Azad Jammu Kashmir, following a spell of heavy snowfall. After a dry period of over three months, the valley experienced its third major snowfall, bringing immense joy to both the locals and visitors.

Subordinate areas of Graze Valley have faced disruptions due to the intense snowfall in the higher regions of Neelam Valley, according to the State Disaster Management Authority. The valley’s well-known tourist destinations saw varying degrees of snowfall, ranging from medium to heavy.

The snow-capped resorts in the area turned into hubs of excitement as tourists from Pakistan and AJK enjoyed the snowy landscape, capturing the magical moments and having fun in the snow.

Forecasts indicate the likelihood of light to moderate rain or snow along both sides of the LoC, with heavier snowfall expected in the higher elevations of the Indian-occupied Kashmir region, including districts like Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Shopian, Anantnag, and Kulgam.

Authorities have advised residents in these high-altitude areas to stay cautious and avoid areas prone to avalanches over the next 24 hours. The AJK State Disaster Management Authority has urged the public to remain updated on weather conditions and follow safety measures to minimize the risk of avalanches.
