The two police officers were martyred when unidentified gunmen attacked them in the Jabukhel area of Lakki Marwat, near Nawab Khan Graveyard, within the jurisdiction of the Ghaznikhel police station. Both policemen were killed instantly, and the attackers fled the scene on a motorcycle.

The slain constables, Hikmatullah and Khan Bahadar, were traveling on their motorcycle from their village, Kherukhel Pacca, to their respective duty stations. Their daily duties included transporting official documents between the district police office and their stations.

Following the attack, law enforcement launched an extensive search operation to track down the assailants, while local residents, armed and determined, joined in the manhunt. A Rescue 1122 team was dispatched immediately, and the bodies of the fallen policemen were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital Tajazai for legal processing.
