Teresa Palmer Joins Russell Crowe and Nina Dobrev in Action-Thriller Bear Country
Teresa Palmer has officially signed on for Bear Country, an upcoming action-thriller starring Russell Crowe and Nina Dobrev. The film, directed by Derrick Borte, is currently being filmed in Australia.
Best known for Warm Bodies and A Discovery of Witches, Palmer takes on the role of Sunny, the sharp-witted girlfriend of Manco Kapak, played by Crowe. Kapak, a seasoned nightclub owner, is preparing to sell his business and step away from the scene—until a masked gunman disrupts his plans, setting off a high-stakes chase.
The cast also includes Kartiah Vergara in a pivotal role. Bear Country is adapted from Thomas Perry’s novel Strip, with the screenplay penned by Borte and Daniel Forte (American Dreamer). The project is backed by Nickel City Pictures, A Higher Standard, G2 Dispatch, and Life & Soul Pictures.
Palmer has a packed schedule ahead, including roles in the limited series The Family Next Door and the drama The Last Anniversary, an adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s novel produced by Nicole Kidman. She also recently starred in Addition, a romantic comedy that premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, as well as David Leitch’s action-packed The Fall Guy.
This past weekend, Palmer was honored with the Excellence in Film & Television Award at the 2025 G’Day USA Arts Gala, recognizing her contributions as an Australian talent in Hollywood. She is represented by CAA, Entertainment 360, Shanahan Management, and Sloane Offer.
