Mass Shooting in Queens Injures Ten on New Year’s Day
Ten individuals sustained injuries during a mass shooting in Queens, New York City, late on New Year’s Day, according to the New York Police Department (NYPD) in a briefing early Thursday.
The victims, identified as six women and four men, were outside a private events club when the incident occurred late Wednesday night. Authorities confirmed all injured parties are expected to recover.
The attack unfolded as a group of three to four men fired into the crowd outside the club. Social media users expressed their outrage, sharing images of the heavy police presence at the scene.
Officials ruled out terrorism as a motive in this case.
This incident followed two other tragic events earlier on New Year’s Day in the United States. In New Orleans, a truck rammed into a crowd celebrating the holiday, killing 15 people. Meanwhile, in Las Vegas, a Tesla truck explosion near a Trump hotel claimed one life and left seven others injured.
Authorities are actively pursuing suspects linked to the New Orleans and Las Vegas events while investigating potential terrorism links.
