Taylor Swift’s thoughtful gift to Harry Styles has remained a secret until recently. The 35-year-old pop icon, who dated the former One Direction star from 2012 to 2013, requested the indie band The Temper Trap to write one of their favorite lyrics for Styles.
The band revealed in a TikTok video that they discovered Harry Styles was a fan of their music after he posted a picture of their lyrics tattooed on his body. However, they noticed that the tattoo contained incorrect lyrics. The tattoo read, “Won’t stop ‘til we surrender,” while the correct lyrics are, “And won’t stop ‘til it’s over / Won’t stop to surrender.”
The band’s lead singer, Dougy Mandagi, shared the story, explaining that after seeing the tattoo, the band laughed about the error. Swift later approached the band at the ARIA Awards, where she was a presenter. She handed them a piece of paper and asked them to write the lyrics for Harry’s birthday. Mandagi jokingly admitted he wasn’t sure if he wrote the correct lyrics or the wrong ones.
Fans were thrilled by this new tidbit about the former couple, with some commenting, “RANDOM HAYLOR LORE?????” and others noting, “Getting Haylor lore 13 years later.”
