Syria Announces Resumption of Flights from Damascus

DAMASCUS – Syria announced on Saturday that international flights will resume at Damascus International Airport starting next week. This follows a suspension of such flights after the recent ousting of President Bashar al-Assad.

In a statement to state news agency SANA, Ashhad al-Salibi, head of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport, confirmed that international flights to and from the capital’s airport will begin again on Tuesday.

Al-Salibi reassured both Arab and international airlines, noting that efforts are underway to rehabilitate both Aleppo and Damascus airports with the help of their partners, ensuring they are ready to accommodate flights from around the globe.
