The Sindh Education Department has announced the winter vacation schedule for both public and private educational institutions in the province.
According to a notification released on Tuesday, the winter holidays will run from December 21 to December 31, 2024. This decision was made based on the Sub-Committee meeting of the Steering Committee on Education, which was chaired by the Sindh Minister for Education on January 25, 2024.
The notification stated, “In line with the decision made during the Sub-Committee meeting of the Steering Committee on Education, held on January 25, 2024, under the Chairmanship of the Honourable Minister for Education Sindh, the Winter Vacation for all Public and Private Educational Institutions under the College Education Department, Government of Sindh, will be from December 21 to December 31, 2024.”
Classes will resume on Wednesday, January 1, 2024, following the winter break.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Education Department also announced the winter holiday schedule for schools across the province. According to their notification, the break will last 24 days, from December 20 to January 10, 2025.
In Murree, however, due to extreme cold weather, schools will remain closed longer. The winter break in Murree will start on December 20 and last until February 28, 2025.
Schools in Punjab will reopen on January 13, 2025, after the regular weekend holidays on January 11 and 12.
