Sabrina Carpenter Talks Grammy Nomination, Short n’ Sweet Tour, and Her ‘Baby Steps’ to Success

Sabrina Carpenter, 25, has received her first Grammy nomination for Best New Artist, a major milestone in her decade-long music career. In an interview with People, Carpenter shared her gratitude for the recognition, saying, “I’ve always stayed true to myself and believed in my work from a young age,” reflecting on the gradual progress that led her to this point.

Her successful year kicked off with the release of her hit single Espresso in April 2024, followed by her sixth album, Short n’ Sweet, in August. In addition to Best New Artist, Carpenter has earned nominations for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Solo Performance. “It’s such an honor,” she commented, acknowledging that a Grammy nomination was a childhood dream come true.

Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet tour, which marked her first arena tour, further solidified her success. The North American leg, in collaboration with T-Mobile, featured fan-focused experiences like the “Sweet Spot” pop-up. Carpenter highlighted the creative outfits and funny signs her fans brought to the shows as a special moment. “Connecting with my fans each night was so meaningful,” she said.

Looking ahead to the European leg of her tour in March 2025, Carpenter is excited to revisit cities she hasn’t performed in for years. “I’m curious to see which crowd will be the loudest,” she added.

Reflecting on the past year, Carpenter emphasized the importance of staying present and connecting with her audience. “I’m just grateful to see my music resonate with so many people from all walks of life,” she concluded.
