Royal Family joyfully announces Duchess Sophie’s new role.

Duchess Sophie has officially taken on a prestigious royal role previously held by Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen Mother, and Queen Victoria.

Buckingham Palace announced that the Duchess of Edinburgh has become the new Patron of Mothers’ Union, a charity dedicated to supporting families and communities.

As part of her new role, Sophie recently visited the English for Women project in Chelmsford. King Charles’ office highlighted the importance of her visit, referring to her as the royal family’s “secret weapon.”

Alongside heartwarming photos from the engagement, the royal family released a statement explaining the project’s mission:

“The initiative aims to reduce isolation for individuals facing language barriers in daily life, many of whom are fleeing difficult circumstances. It provides a supportive space where participants can build connections and learn practical English to foster a sense of belonging.”

The Mothers’ Union has a deep-rooted royal history, with Sophie following in the footsteps of esteemed former patrons, including Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen Mother, and Queen Victoria.

Notably, this honor comes as Duchess Sophie and Prince Edward approach their 25th wedding anniversary, marking a significant milestone in their royal journey.
