Ronaldo Extends Contract with Saudi Club Al Nassr

Riyadh: Cristiano Ronaldo Set to Extend Al Nassr Contract Until 2026

Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly reached an agreement to extend his contract with Saudi club Al Nassr until June 2026, a club official confirmed to AFP on Monday.

“The agreement has been finalized, though the official signing is still pending. A formal announcement will be made in the coming days,” the official stated.

Ronaldo, who recently turned 40, is currently under contract until June 2025. The former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus star joined Al Nassr in January 2023 and has since netted an impressive 82 goals in 90 appearances.

Back in August, Ronaldo hinted that he might finish his professional career with Al Nassr, stating, “My retirement could happen soon, or in the next two or three years. But most likely, I will end my career with Al Nassr, a club where I feel happy and comfortable.”

His move to the Saudi Pro League in 2023, reportedly valued at $250 million, initially appeared to be a late-career switch away from mainstream European football. However, his arrival triggered a wave of high-profile signings, as several global stars followed him to the league.

Ronaldo’s influence extends beyond the pitch. In August, he launched a YouTube channel, gaining one million subscribers within 90 minutes and an astonishing 20 million in just 24 hours. His current subscriber count stands at 73.5 million.

Despite missing out on a FIFA World Cup title—an achievement his longtime rival Lionel Messi secured—Ronaldo continues to chase records. As he approaches the milestone of 1,000 professional goals, he remains determined to add more silverware to his collection.

So far, his only trophy with Al Nassr has been the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup. However, he remains eager to claim a Saudi Pro League or continental championship before the end of his career.
