Billionaires Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg are expected to attend Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20, 2025, as they aim to strengthen ties with the incoming president, NBC News reported. The three tech moguls will sit on the platform alongside other key guests, including Trump’s cabinet nominees.
Musk, the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and owner of X, has been a strong supporter of Trump, sharing his hard-right views and investing heavily in his presidential campaign. Musk has also been tapped by Trump to co-lead an advisory commission, the “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE), to cut federal spending, although it will not be an official government agency.
Bezos and Zuckerberg, while not as closely aligned with Trump, have made efforts to build rapport with him. Bezos, the founder of Amazon and owner of The Washington Post, has clashed with Trump in the past. Meanwhile, Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, signaled a rightward shift in his political stance, recently announcing that Facebook and Instagram would end fact-checking in the U.S. due to perceived censorship by governments and the media. Zuckerberg has also been involved in co-hosting a post-inauguration reception for Trump, further aligning himself with Republican donors.
Bezos’s relationship with Trump has been strained, particularly due to his ownership of The Washington Post, a frequent target of Trump’s criticism. Bezos’s aerospace company, Blue Origin, also competes for government contracts, intensifying the competition between the two.
