Rangers Official Passes Away After Injuries at PTI’s November 26 Protest

A Rangers officer, Lance Naik Muhammad Tanveer, passed away after succumbing to injuries sustained during the violent protests in Islamabad on November 25 and 26, according to Express News. The 37-year-old, a native of Narowal, had been in a coma since the unrest.

Tanveer, who served in Pakistan Rangers Punjab for 17 years, is survived by his wife, two sons, and three daughters. His death marks the fourth fatality among Rangers personnel, with several others injured.

The protests, reportedly involving Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters under the guise of demonstrations, led to widespread damage to public property.

In addition to Tanveer, two Punjab police officers also lost their lives, while around 119 officers sustained injuries. Islamabad police confirmed that 11 of their personnel were critically wounded during the clashes.

Videos circulating online show PTI supporters engaging in acts of arson and vandalism. Authorities have pledged to take strict legal action against those responsible for the violence.
