PTI’s Bhachar claims Punjab govt is using unfair tactics despite talks

LAHORE: PTI’s parliamentary party in Punjab has criticized the PML-N government, calling it hypocritical for holding talks with the opposition while using harsh tactics against PTI leaders, workers, and women.

Opposition Leader Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar, along with other PTI members, held a press conference demanding that the Punjab government stop its “fascism” and make the talks with PTI meaningful. He accused the police of filing cases against the families of those who died in D-Chowk protests and threatening them.

Bhachar also requested the recovery of PTI workers who went missing after being allegedly picked up from Islamabad on November 26. He said that PTI chairman Gohar Khan had submitted a list of 139 missing party members.

He criticized the Punjab police for raiding the homes of PTI leaders and workers, and claimed that false cases were filed against MPA Qazi Ahmad Akbar, whose house was raided multiple times.

Bhachar stated that the PML-N government was weak and acting under the influence of others. He also mentioned that the Punjab chief secretary and police IG were appointed by the caretaker government but were still in their positions.

Despite ongoing talks, Bhachar emphasized that PTI would continue to protest and demand the withdrawal of false cases, the release of political prisoners like Imran Khan, and the recovery of missing persons. He also mentioned the delayed verdict in the Al-Qadir Trust case, saying that everything in the country was unsafe except for court decisions.

He concluded that the ongoing talks were important, as their outcome would decide whether Pakistan stays on track or goes off course.
