Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is gearing up for major changes within its party and the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) provincial government, following the recent appointment of Junaid Akbar as the new provincial president.
Sources informed Express News that a series of shifts are expected in the coming weeks, with decisions aimed at reshaping leadership across the region. PTI members have been asked to focus on preparations for an important event on February 8, which may signal the start of broader restructuring within the party.
Akbar, who recently took on the role of provincial president, has reached out to several senior figures within the party to discuss the forthcoming leadership transitions. Reports suggest the party aims to place leadership positions in the hands of individuals who have demonstrated commitment, particularly following the May 9, 2023 events, and had previously been overlooked.
In addition to leadership changes, a provincial cabinet reshuffle is also anticipated, with several ministers expected to see their roles adjusted. The move is seen as an effort to inject new energy into the party’s administration and improve governance.
Moreover, PTI sources revealed that a report evaluating ministers’ performance will soon be presented to Junaid Akbar, signaling the ongoing structural reforms designed to bolster the party’s standing in the province.
