PSL 10: Sarfaraz Ahmed and Shoaib Malik Join Diamond Category
In the upcoming 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), former national team captains Sarfaraz Ahmed and Shoaib Malik have both been placed in the Diamond category of players.
Recently, all six PSL franchises revealed their retained players for the season. While Quetta Gladiators kept eight players, Sarfaraz Ahmed, who led the team to a championship win, was notably not among them. After nine years with the Gladiators, the team opted to release Sarfaraz, making him eligible for the draftβhis first since the inaugural PSL season in 2016.
Meanwhile, all-rounder Shoaib Malik announced via social media that he would be parting ways with Karachi Kings, the franchise he joined in 2020 and played for over four seasons.
Alongside Sarfaraz and Shoaib Malik, the Diamond category for PSL 10 includes Mohammad Nawaz, Aamir Jamal, Abbas Afridi, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Ali, and Mohammad Hasnain.
The Diamond category also features international players from various cricketing nations, including Australia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Zimbabwe, and players from associate nations.
