The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is slated to begin on February 19, 2025, following a hybrid model. The opening match will feature host nation Pakistan against New Zealand. According to the tentative schedule, the highly anticipated Pakistan vs. India clash will take place at a neutral venue on February 23.
The semi-finals are scheduled for March 24 and March 5, with the first one set at a neutral venue and the second in Lahore. The final will occur on March 9, possibly at a neutral venue if India qualifies for the final, or in Lahore if Pakistan faces another team.
Earlier, the ICC confirmed that the 2025 Champions Trophy would be held in Pakistan, with matches between India and Pakistan taking place at neutral venues. This policy extends to the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup and the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also received the hosting rights for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2028, with similar neutral venue arrangements in place.
The eight teams participating in the Champions Trophy include Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa, and Pakistan, who will aim to defend the title they won in 2017. The official schedule is expected to be confirmed shortly.
