Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism, emphasizing that Pakistan’s progress and stability are closely tied to national security.
During a Federal Cabinet meeting in Islamabad, the prime minister acknowledged the sacrifices made by the country’s armed forces in the fight against terrorism. He assured that their dedication and service “will always be honored and remembered.”
Addressing economic matters, Shehbaz Sharif shared insights from his recent discussions with officials from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He highlighted their recognition of Pakistan’s economic stability and positive trends, which he attributed to government-led reforms.
He also referenced a recent Gallup survey, noting that 55% of the business community had expressed optimism about the country’s improving economic environment.
Focusing on trade expansion, the prime minister directed the Ministry of Commerce and relevant departments to strengthen economic ties with Türkiye, aiming to boost bilateral trade to $5 billion. This initiative follows Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s visit to Pakistan.
“Shehbaz praised President Erdoğan for his steadfast support of Pakistan, particularly in advocating for the rights of Kashmiris and Palestinians.”
As Pakistan’s economic outlook continues to improve, the prime minister stressed the importance of sustained reforms and stronger global trade partnerships to ensure long-term growth and stability.
