PM Shehbaz Launches AJK’s First Daanish School Project

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently inaugurated the first Daanish School of Science and Technology in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), a milestone in the effort to provide quality education to underserved students. The school, located in Bhimber, is part of a broader initiative that aims to offer free education, books, meals, and lodging for talented children from economically disadvantaged regions.

During the inauguration, PM Shehbaz emphasized the vision of his brother, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who initiated the Daanish Schools to empower students from rural areas. He highlighted the success of past graduates who are now making valuable contributions in various fields.

The Prime Minister also announced plans to expand the Daanish School network, with new locations planned for Neelum in AJK, and potential extensions to Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and the merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He urged officials to complete construction and operationalize the new school within a year.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir, PM Shehbaz expressed unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s struggles, commending the role of the military leadership in the cause.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister detailed his government’s recent economic successes, including reduced inflation, increased exports, and foreign remittances, as well as the completion of the IMF program to avert financial crisis.

AJK Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq termed the Daanish Schools as transformative for the region, and Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Amir Muqam confirmed that four more schools will be established in AJK, broadening educational access.

The event was attended by key figures from both federal and AJK governments, as well as Hurriyat leaders, highlighting the importance of education in national development.
