Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Abu Dhabi on Monday for a two-day official visit, during which he will participate in the World Governments Summit (WGS) and engage with business delegations from both Pakistan and the UAE.
This marks his second visit to the United Arab Emirates since taking office in March 2024.
Upon his arrival, the prime minister met with senior Emirati officials and was scheduled to hold discussions with key business leaders from both countries.
As part of his visit, PM Shehbaz will deliver a keynote speech at the WGS in Dubai on Tuesday. His address will focus on Pakistan’s vision for inclusive economic development, digital transformation, and governance reforms.
According to a statement from the Foreign Office, the summit will gather a significant number of global leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to deliberate on governance, innovation, and international cooperation.
Accompanying the prime minister is a high-level delegation that includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, along with other senior cabinet members. Their presence underscores Pakistan’s dedication to strengthening its ties with the UAE and engaging with international stakeholders.
During his stay, PM Shehbaz will also hold bilateral talks with UAE leadership and meet with other world leaders and top executives of multinational corporations.
The Foreign Office highlighted the strong and longstanding relationship between Pakistan and the UAE, built on trust, mutual understanding, and robust cooperation across various sectors. The UAE remains a key economic and strategic partner for Pakistan, playing a vital role in bilateral trade and investment.
The visit reflects Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its partnership with the UAE, fostering greater economic collaboration, and identifying new opportunities for mutual growth and prosperity.
