On December 25, Pakistan celebrated the 148th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah with tributes from leaders, officials, and citizens, honoring his visionary leadership and lasting legacy.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised Jinnah’s exceptional courage and determination that led to Pakistan’s creation. He described him as a principled leader who championed unity, justice, and equality. The PM emphasized Jinnah’s vision of a nation where every citizen, regardless of faith or ethnicity, enjoys dignity, freedom, and equal opportunities.
Shehbaz called on the nation to recommit to Jinnah’s principles of unity, faith, and discipline as key to Pakistan’s progress. He also extended Christmas greetings to the Christian community, acknowledging their contributions to education, healthcare, and nation-building, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to safeguarding the rights of all religious communities.
President Asif Ali Zardari also honored Quaid-e-Azam, stressing the need to uphold social justice, economic equity, and the rule of law. He urged investment in youth education and support for disadvantaged communities to realize Jinnah’s vision of a peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous Pakistan.
Reflecting on Jinnah’s landmark 1947 address, Zardari highlighted the importance of inclusivity and minority rights, calling on Pakistanis to embrace these values in daily life and strive for a democratic and harmonious nation.
