A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) air hostess was arrested for attempting to smuggle mobile phones into the country. Customs officers at Lahore Airport discovered the phones in her possession after she arrived on a flight from Abu Dhabi.
Customs officials stated that the air hostess was carrying several high-end mobile phones on flight PK 264, which were uncovered during a routine luggage inspection upon her arrival. The phones were seized, and an internal investigation into her actions has been launched. Authorities are continuing to investigate the matter to assess the extent of the smuggling operation.
In a related development, PIA dismissed two crew members just two days prior after an inquiry revealed their involvement in a mobile phone theft scheme. The dismissed employees, Mohammed Mumtaz and Asifa Naaz, were terminated from their positions after being found guilty of smuggling phones, according to a PIA spokesperson.
