LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notices to relevant authorities, requesting their responses to a petition that alleges the misuse of Punjab government funds for the personal and political promotion of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Justice Farooq Haider presided over the hearing of the petition, which was filed by Ashba Kamran. The petitioner contended that public funds, intended for welfare initiatives and job creation, were being diverted to advance the political image of Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz.
The court has instructed the concerned authorities to submit their replies within a period of two weeks.
