Patrick Schwarzenegger’s Emotional Reaction to The White Lotus Casting
Landing a role in The White Lotus season 3 was a dream come true for Patrick Schwarzenegger, but what made it even more memorable was his family’s reaction.
The actor took to Instagram to share a touching video of the moment his mother, Maria Shriver, and sister, Katherine Schwarzenegger, learned about his casting.
“This is when I found out I got the role in The White Lotus,” Schwarzenegger wrote, explaining that he initially had to keep the news a secret. In the clip, Shriver first guessed that his fiancée, Abby Champion, might be expecting a baby before he revealed the real news—he was heading to Thailand for filming. The family erupted with joy, shedding tears and celebrating at a restaurant.
“My whole family loves the show and always joked that I needed to find a way to be part of it,” he shared. “It was such a special moment to celebrate with the people I love.”
Schwarzenegger plays the eldest son of a wealthy family in season 3, portraying an arrogant and privileged character. His on-screen parents are played by Jason Isaacs and Parker Posey, while Sam Nivola and Sarah Catherine Hook appear as his siblings.
Even his father, Arnold Schwarzenegger, chimed in on the excitement, playfully commenting on his son’s role, including a joke about his nude scene: “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”
Set in Thailand, The White Lotus season 3 is now available for streaming on HBO.
