As Kate Middleton continues to recover from her challenging health battle this year, Kensington Palace has outlined a new, strict approach for her royal engagements in the upcoming year.
The Princess of Wales, who revealed her cancer diagnosis in March, completed a nine-month treatment regimen in September. During this period, Kate made limited public appearances, but in the last two months, she returned for major events.
Despite positive updates on Kate’s health, royal expert Gareth Russell shared that her return to public life will be gradual. “The royal households have made it clear that her return will be staggered,” he said in an interview with GB News. “Recovery can be unpredictable, and there will be events she can attend and others she cannot.”
Russell further noted that Kate, mother of three young children with Prince William, will not take part in events on short notice. He expressed hope for a long-term return to her royal duties.
The news follows the royal family’s Christmas Walk in Norfolk, where Kate and William were joined by their children – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6 – and received a warm reception from the public.
Although uncertainties remain about Kate’s future appearances, William hinted that she would accompany him on an international tour next year.
