Pakistan’s exports to the US rise 11.23% in seven months of FY25

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s exports of goods and services to the United States witnessed an 11.23% increase during the first seven months of the fiscal year 2024-25 compared to the same period last year, as reported by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

From July to January 2024-25, total exports to the U.S. amounted to $3.565 billion, up from $3.205 billion during the corresponding months of 2023-24. On a year-on-year basis, exports climbed to $547.752 million in January 2025, compared to $456.508 million in January 2024. Month-on-month, exports saw an 8.57% rise from $504.481 million in December 2024.

Overall, Pakistan’s exports to all countries grew by 7.56%, increasing from $17.826 billion to $19.175 billion during the same period.

In addition to exports, imports from the U.S. also surged by 22.63%, reaching $1.268 billion in July-January 2024-25, up from $1.034 billion in the previous year. In January 2025, imports rose to $188.310 million, compared to $139.783 million in January 2024, reflecting a 1.69% increase from December 2024’s $185.170 million.

Pakistan’s total imports during the period grew by 10.88%, reaching $33.314 billion, up from $30.043 billion in the same period last year, according to SBP data. This growth in both exports and imports highlights an upward trend in Pakistan’s trade activities, particularly with the United States.
