Pakistan Expresses Concerns Over Extraterritorial Killings by India

On Thursday, Pakistan’s Foreign Office raised significant concerns regarding India’s alleged extraterritorial and extrajudicial killings within Pakistan. Reports have surfaced claiming that India has been ordering the killings of individuals within Pakistan who are deemed a threat to its national interests.

The Washington Post recently reported that India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) has been conducting targeted assassinations in Pakistan since 2021. The Guardian had earlier echoed similar allegations, claiming that India had sanctioned the killings of at least 20 people in Pakistan as part of a strategy to eliminate perceived terrorists living abroad.

During a weekly briefing in Islamabad, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch condemned India’s actions, stating that this campaign of killings and abductions had extended beyond Pakistan’s borders, causing growing concern in various countries. She reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fostering peaceful relations with its neighbors, particularly Afghanistan, emphasizing the robust dialogue mechanisms in place for discussing bilateral issues such as security and border management.

In response to national security concerns, Baloch emphasized Pakistan’s ability to safeguard its sovereignty from both internal and external threats. Additionally, addressing queries regarding Gwadar port, the spokesperson clarified that the port’s development is solely for Pakistan’s benefit with China’s support, and reiterated that Pakistan has no plans to offer military bases to foreign powers.
