Pakistan, UAE Sign MoUs to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation Across Key Sectors
Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on Monday, aimed at bolstering collaboration in vital areas such as culture, trade, and consular services.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan formalized two key agreements—one focused on fostering cultural ties between the UAE Ministry of Culture and Pakistan’s Culture Division, and another on forming a joint committee dedicated to consular affairs.
The two leaders also oversaw the signing of an MoU between the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), paving the way for the establishment of the UAE-Pakistan Joint Business Council. This platform is designed to expand trade and attract investments between the two nations.
The MoU on economic cooperation was signed by UAE Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs, Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, and FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh.
During their meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister Dar warmly welcomed his UAE counterpart, emphasizing the deep-rooted and evolving friendship between the two countries. He expressed optimism about shared progress for the benefit of both nations.
In response, Sheikh Abdullah expressed gratitude for the hospitality shown during his visit and remarked that Pakistan holds a special significance for the UAE’s leadership and people.
Sheikh Abdullah landed in Pakistan on Sunday for a two-day official visit and is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his stay.
