OVO rapper Smiley is set to make a big comeback in 2025 with thrilling news for his fans.
During a recent livestream, Smiley confirmed an upcoming collaboration with his label head, Drake. This marks their first project together since their 2021 hit “Over the Top.” Smiley described the new track as a “slapper” and announced it would serve as the lead single for his forthcoming album.
Although Smiley and Drake haven’t frequently collaborated, their bond has remained strong over the years. In a 2023 interview, Drake gave Smiley a shoutout that went viral. Smiley humorously recalled how Drake once mimicked his style perfectly and shared a fond memory of them enjoying General Tso’s chicken at Toronto’s Hong Shing restaurant.
Smiley attributes his shift away from street life to Drake’s influence, calling him his “big dog” and crediting Drake’s lifestyle for motivating him to focus on music.
In addition to the collaboration with Drake, Smiley expressed a desire to work with Cardi B, revealing his ambition to partner with a female artist of her caliber. He highlighted his excitement about creating diverse music and pushing his artistry further.
