MEXICO CITY:
A tragic bus accident in southern Mexico has claimed the lives of more than 36 people, according to local media reports on Saturday. Authorities have extended their condolences to the victims’ families.
The bus was en route from CancΓΊn to Tabasco when the incident occurred. Ovidio Peralta, the mayor of Comalcalco, a town in Tabasco, stated that local and federal authorities were monitoring the situation and ready to provide assistance as needed.
According to a passenger list shared by the bus operator, Tours Acosta, there were 44 individuals on board. The company expressed deep sorrow over the incident, posting a message on Facebook stating, “Tours Acosta deeply regrets this tragic event.”
