Netanyahu Gifts Trump Golden Pager in Reference to Israeli Operation Against Hezbollah
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly presented former US President Donald Trump with a golden pager, along with a regular one, as a symbolic gesture linked to an Israeli operation targeting Hezbollah, as reported by Channel 12 News.
In response, Trump praised the operation, remarking, “That was a great operation.”
The exchange occurred amid Israel’s ongoing counteroffensive against Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran. In September, several pagers used by Hezbollah operatives in Lebanon exploded, causing numerous casualties. This was followed by a series of walkie-talkie explosions the next day, resulting in more deaths and injuries. These incidents, believed to be the work of Israel, were part of its broader strategy to disrupt Hezbollah’s activities after the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel by Hamas, a Hezbollah ally.
In return for the gift, Trump gave Netanyahu a framed photograph of the two leaders, with the inscription: “To Bibi, a great leader.”
The exchange highlights the strong personal and strategic relationship between the two leaders and underscores the close cooperation between Israel and the US in addressing regional security challenges.
