LAHORE:Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to prioritize the nation’s interests during ongoing discussions with the opposition Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

In a statement released by the ruling party, it was revealed that Shehbaz Sharif provided a detailed briefing to his elder brother, Nawaz Sharif, on the negotiation process and other significant matters, including the country’s political and economic situation.

The meeting, held at Jati Umra, lasted two hours and included Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, according to reports from Express News. Nawaz emphasized the importance of unity, highlighting that collective efforts are crucial for the country’s progress.

During the meeting, Nawaz reiterated the need to prioritize national interests in talks with PTI. “We must all work together for the country,” he reportedly said.

According to the PML-N’s statement, discussions focused on key political and national issues. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif updated Nawaz on the government’s measures to stabilize the economy and curb inflation. The statement noted that inflation had decreased significantly and that the country was heading in a positive direction.

Expressing satisfaction with the government’s initiatives, Nawaz praised the efforts to provide relief to the public. “The PML-N government remains committed to serving the people,” the statement quoted him as saying.

The demands presented by PTI during the third round of negotiations were also discussed. Shehbaz briefed the leadership on the latest developments in the dialogue process, underscoring the government’s focus on addressing key national challenges.
