The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has announced plans to commemorate Muhajir Culture Day on December 24, 2024, at the Governor House in Karachi.
The celebration is intended to showcase the cultural heritage of the Muhajir community and their significant contributions to Pakistan’s history. This initiative was shared by Express News.
During a press briefing held at the party’s Bahadurabad office, MQM-Pakistan Chairman Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui highlighted the event’s importance and the value of embracing cultural diversity in Pakistan.
Dr. Siddiqui remarked, “The Muhajir culture is a treasure for the nation. We should be open to appreciating and respecting each other’s cultural traditions.”
Prominent party leaders, including Dr. Farooq Sattar and Anees Qaimkhani, also attended the press conference and voiced their support for the upcoming event.
Dr. Siddiqui emphasized Karachi’s role as a hub of cultural diversity, describing the city as “a bouquet where people of various linguistic and cultural backgrounds come together in harmony.”

Senior leader Dr. Farooq Sattar praised Sindh as a province of peace and home to the revered Sufi saint Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. He also described Karachi as a center of Pakistan’s cultural unity, expressing hope that Muhajir Culture Day would strengthen ties among diverse communities across the country.
The Governor of Sindh has also endorsed the initiative, commending it as a step toward promoting national harmony. MQM-P has urged its members and supporters to actively participate in the event to ensure its success.
