SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly has strongly criticized Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, accusing them of using the Los Angeles wildfires for personal publicity.
On her podcast, The Megyn Kelly Show, Kelly labeled the couple “absolute cretins” and claimed their involvement in wildfire relief efforts was more about self-promotion than genuine aid. “They inserted themselves into the devastation just to get attention,” Kelly remarked. “What victims truly need is support, not a publicity stunt.”
The couple was seen distributing food and embracing evacuees in footage aired by Fox 11 Los Angeles. However, Kelly dismissed these actions as “trauma exploitation,” drawing parallels to Meghan’s visit to Uvalde, Texas, following the school shooting in 2022.
Kelly also cited actress Justine Bateman’s social media criticism, where Bateman referred to the pair as “disaster tourists” engaging in “ambulance chasing.”
Kelly suggested that meaningful contributions, like donations or supporting local fundraising efforts, would have been a more appropriate way for the couple to help. “They don’t need to inject themselves into every crisis,” she added.
While Harry and Meghan have not responded to the backlash, their relief efforts continue to spark mixed reactions. Some have praised their involvement, while others question their motives, underscoring the persistent scrutiny surrounding the Sussexes even after stepping back from royal duties.
