Mandy Moore recently expressed her deep gratitude to the Los Angeles Fire Department after they responded to the Eaton Fire, which affected her home. The 40-year-old actress and singer took to social media to share her appreciation, highlighting the damage caused by the fire, which was located about 30 miles from the Pacific Palisades.
On Saturday, Moore took a moment to honor the brave firefighters for their dedication and hard work, sharing a picture of them enjoying a well-deserved break with fast food. She captioned the photo with, “Grateful doesn’t cover it. Hope these guys got a round of double doubles on the house!”
Despite her home being impacted by the wildfires, Moore expressed feelings of “survivor’s guilt,” as her property was spared from total destruction, unlike many others. She reflected on the devastation in her neighborhood, saying, “We were able to park and walk up our street to bear witness to all the loss. Miraculously, the main part of our house is still standing. For now. Itβs not livable but mostly intact.”
Moore revealed that they lost their studio, along with all the instruments and equipment, as well as their garage and back house. She added that nearly every house on their street was destroyed, affecting friends and family. “My in-laws. My brother and sister-in-lawβsix weeks from welcoming their first baby. Our best friends,” she said.
Despite the loss, Moore expressed her commitment to supporting the community as they rebuild. “We love this community and will do everything we can to help rebuild and support,” she shared.
