“Luigi Mangione’s Letter to Nursing Student Shares Book Recommendation, Daily Routine, and Love for Chess and Ramen”

Luigi Mangione, who is currently facing both state and federal murder charges in connection with the death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, has provided a rare glimpse into his daily life while incarcerated. In a letter addressed to a nursing student named Genevieve, Mangione opened up about his routine and even shared a book suggestion.

The letter, which was shared on the subreddit r/Fauxmoi, offers a personal look into Mangione’s life behind bars.

“My typical day involves reading, eating plenty of ramen, working out, and spending time with my fellow inmates,” he wrote. He also revealed that he and other prisoners organize weekly chess nights, which he described as “an enjoyable way to bond and pass the time.”

Acknowledging Genevieve’s love for literature, Mangione recommended the book *Self-Compassion: The Proven Power of Being Kind to Yourself* by Kristin Neff. “This book was incredibly helpful to me during my first year of college,” he shared.

Despite the serious nature of his ongoing legal case, Mangione offered words of encouragement to Genevieve as she works toward her nursing degree. “I know how it feels to want to quit sometimes. Early adulthood can be challenging, but I believe we all have the strength to push through,” he wrote. He also expressed his admiration for nurses, stating, “Nurses deserve far more recognition and respect within our healthcare system.”

As Genevieve approaches graduation, Mangione wished her success, writing, “You have a promising future ahead of you.”

Mangione has entered a not-guilty plea to the charges of murder and terrorism. He remains in federal custody as his legal team contests the evidence against him. His attorney has raised questions about potential constitutional violations during his arrest, and a trial date has not yet been scheduled.
