Rumors have been circulating that Leonardo DiCaprio will appear in a cameo in Squid Game Season 3, with reports suggesting the Hollywood star has already completed filming for a brief role in the upcoming season, set for release this summer. Although details about his character are still unclear, speculation grew due to DiCaprio’s admiration for the show.
However, Netflix has officially dismissed these rumors, stating, “We’ve also heard rumors about Leonardo DiCaprio’s appearance, but they are not true.”
The speculation gained momentum after a friendly interaction between DiCaprio and Squid Game lead actor Lee Jung Jae at the 2021 LACMA Art + Film Gala. In 2022, Lee even expressed his interest in seeing DiCaprio join the show, fueling further rumors. Director Hwang Dong Hyuk also mentioned during a press event celebrating the show’s Emmy success that they joked about offering DiCaprio a role, as the actor had expressed his admiration for Squid Game.
Season 2 of Squid Game left fans on the edge of their seats with a thrilling confrontation between Gi-hun (Lee Jung Jae) and the Front Man (Lee Byung Hun), setting up more deadly challenges for Season 3, which is expected to be released in late 2025.
