Laura Loomer’s Oval Office Meeting Triggers NSC Firings by Trump

Trump Fires Six NSC Officials Following Laura Loomer’s Oval Office Meeting

President Donald Trump has dismissed six members of the National Security Council (NSC) after far-right activist Laura Loomer presented a dossier in a private Oval Office meeting, alleging disloyalty among senior officials, according to international media reports.

Following the meeting, four NSC staffers were removed overnight, while two others had already been dismissed earlier in the week. Among those reportedly fired were Brian Walsh, Senior Director for Intelligence; Thomas Boodry, Senior Director for Legislative Affairs; and Maggie Dougherty, Senior Director for International Organizations.

Loomer’s dossier specifically accused several officials of disloyalty, including NSC Principal Deputy Alex Wong. While Wong was not dismissed, Loomer has publicly alleged that his connections to the Department of Justice, through his wife, raise concerns about his influence.

The meeting, attended by National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Vice President JD Vance, and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, reportedly played a key role in the sudden firings. Sources indicate that parts of Loomer’s claims were substantiated, including officials’ past criticisms of Trump on social media and affiliations with Republican figures such as John McCain and Mitch McConnell.

The dismissals follow a recent controversy involving a Signal group chat where Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth allegedly shared classified information. Loomer claimed that Wong deliberately compromised national security, but an internal review attributed the incident to an error by Waltz, which led to the unintended inclusion of The Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg.

Loomer’s access to the White House, despite lacking formal press credentials, has sparked concerns over security protocols. During the meeting, she reportedly sat directly across from Trump and advocated for the firings.

While Waltz was seen leaving the White House with Trump on Marine One, signaling continued support from the president, reports suggest his influence within Trump’s inner circle may be waning.

In a separate development, Washington Post sources revealed that NSA Director Timothy Haugh and his deputy, Wendy Noble, were also dismissed on Thursday. Noble has been reassigned within the Pentagon, though the reasons for their removal remain unclear.
