Reality star Kim Zolciak and former NFL player Kroy Biermann’s tumultuous relationship has taken another turn as Biermann files for divorce for the third time.
According to court documents submitted in Cobb County, Georgia, Biermann claims their marriage is “irretrievably broken” following Zolciak’s recent relocation from Fulton County.
The filing comes amid Zolciak’s concerns about Biermann’s mental health. She has suggested that he may be suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a degenerative brain condition often linked to former football players. Citing statistics on the disease’s impact, Zolciak has urged the court to mandate a psychological evaluation, attributing his alleged erratic and aggressive behavior to possible CTE.
The couple, who wed in 2011, initially moved toward divorce in May 2023 but later reconciled. They filed again in August 2023 before this latest separation in early 2025. Their ongoing legal battle has been fraught with financial troubles and abuse allegations.
Their once-luxurious Milton mansion, which faced foreclosure multiple times, was recently sold for nearly half its original $6 million listing price. A judge also imposed a “closet schedule” to minimize contact between the estranged pair.
Biermann, now seeking primary custody of their four minor children, currently has them living with him. Both he and Zolciak have requested psychological evaluations as their divorce proceedings, involving both custody and financial disputes, continue to unfold.
