Canadian actor Keanu Reeves has shared his thoughts on the possibility of another installment in the *John Wick* franchise. Reeves, who has portrayed the iconic assassin since the first film in 2014, recently addressed the future of the series in a candid interview.
Earlier, Reeves had hinted that his physical condition, particularly his knees, might prevent him from returning for a fifth movie. However, he had not completely ruled out the idea. Now, the 60-year-old actor has provided a more definitive answer regarding the fate of his character.
Speaking to *Comic Book.com*, Reeves was asked about the potential for a new *John Wick* film. He responded, “You know, the character’s dead. He died in *John Wick: Chapter 4*.” When pressed further, he simply stated, “Right now? Right now there isn’t.”
Producer Erica Lee had previously commented on the possibility of a fifth film, emphasizing that any continuation would require a compelling idea and the right circumstances. “There has to be a great idea if we decide to come up with a new film, and the stars have to align. There’s a lot of pressure to get that right,” she explained.
The fourth installment of the *John Wick* series, produced by Lionsgate, concluded with the death of Reeves’ character. The film, which also starred Bill Skarsgård and Scott Adkins, was a box office success, leaving fans curious about the future of the franchise. While Reeves’ latest comments suggest that John Wick’s story may have reached its end, the door remains slightly ajar for potential spin-offs or new directions within the same universe.
