K-P CM blames rise in terrorism on PTI’s removal

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has stated that the rise in terrorism in the country has occurred since the dissolution of the PTI government led by Imran Khan. He emphasized that wrong policies lead to the emergence of issues like terrorism and asserted that efforts would be made collectively to combat it and restore peace.

Speaking after the Apex Committee meeting of the National Action Plan, Gandapur highlighted the collaborative stance of all provinces to address terrorism and maintain law and order. He expressed his reservations about certain political attitudes but affirmed that the priority was the well-being of Pakistan, vowing to combat terrorism for the nation’s stability.

Gandapur acknowledged the sacrifices made by the army, FC, and security agencies in the fight against terrorism, with many young martyrs in the process. He emphasized the commitment to pursue every avenue to eradicate terrorism and ensure peace.

On the Kurram issue, Gandapur clarified that the conflict there was not terrorism-related but stemmed from a century-old dispute between two local groups. He praised the Grand Jirga for their assistance in resolving the situation and noted that most of the required signatures had been obtained to settle the matter. The issue was now nearly resolved, with routes to be opened soon to benefit local residents.

Regarding the broader security situation, Gandapur blamed the spread of terrorism on the policies of the ruling parties, particularly the PDM, asserting that these policies had been wrong from the start. He also stressed the responsibility of both the federal government and the army in securing the border and addressed concerns over cross-border terrorism, questioning how militants are able to infiltrate cities.
