Blake Lively has sought access to the phone records of her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni as part of their ongoing legal dispute.
On Friday, February 28, a judge ruled on the request, granting Lively partial access to certain records while denying her appeal for more than two years’ worth of data, according to Us Weekly. The decision allows her legal team to obtain phone records of individuals not directly named in the lawsuit but limits the scope of the inquiry.
Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, welcomed the ruling, stating, “The court has blocked Ms. Lively’s extreme attempt to violate our clients’ privacy. This marks a significant victory.”
He further criticized Lively’s legal approach, adding, “Despite any attempts to misrepresent this outcome, the court recognized their actions for what they are—an unfounded effort to justify baseless claims long after they have already tarnished our clients’ reputations in The New York Times.”
A spokesperson for Lively responded, questioning Baldoni’s team’s reluctance to disclose the records. “What is Bryan Freedman trying to hide? After claiming he would release all the ‘receipts,’ he rushed to court to prevent access to the phone records of Baldoni, Heath, Sarowitz, Nathan, Wallace, and Abel during their retaliatory actions.”
Outlining their next steps, the spokesperson confirmed, “Instead of acquiring these records through phone carriers, as initially requested, the judge has allowed us to resubmit more specific requests directly to the defendants. We will proceed with this today and look forward to reviewing the records.”
